Birth Story

Our growing little family...

So it started, well, 9 months ago but fast forward to delivery day! I was tired of being pregnant. I changed my mind. I didn't want to go into labor naturally, I wanted to be induced. Now. So I may have stocked my Dr. at chuch and asked/ pleaded with him to get me in!! So that night I got a call from the hospital to come on in! We got to the hospital around 3 am and got all situated. They broke my water and gave me an epidural at 7 and by 9:32 our little man was out!

Earlier that day Kelsey tried her hand at inducing me by watching some you tube videos and rubbing my feet. I didn't mind, I love a good foot rub!

Conrad helped deliver Nixon with Dr. Erickson. Here he is suiting up with the nurse.

They were having way too much fun:)

We invied Kylie to come watch. She stayed up by my head and she had this permenant grin on her face. She was so excited to welcome Baby into our family!
Then Reese came in when He was being weighed and bathed. Kylie pretty much had a monopoly on holding Nixon but Reese was more than thrilled to get to hold his toes or whatever else was available to hold:)

My mom got to help with the birth too.

I love him.

Lemonade Stand

Kylie has been dying to have a lemonade stand and I really wanted to do it before Baby comes, so today was the day! It was in the 90s but she was such a trooper, counting change back, pouring the lemonade all by herself and saying hello to every student! One student passed by and Kylie said, "Would you like to buy some Lemonade? It's only 25 cents!" The student said, "Well, I don't have any money." Kylie said, "It's ok. Just give me a dollar and I will give you 3 quarters back!" Such a good saleswoman! But really the student didn't have any money:) But most of them did and they were more than generous when paying. Such a fun way to teach her about money, tithing, college fund and money for herself!

Plan A

Kylie is 6. Oh boy do I ever love this little thing. So the morning started off great! Fixed her favorite breakfast, opened a few presents (one of which was a circus tent!!! Thanks to Aunt Cara, thank you I needed a circus tent in our 200 sq ft living room;) and got her snacks together to give to her class. We hopped in the car to take her giddy self to class and our car has been having some serious issues. Like serious. A few weeks ago we were without a car for a week!!!! Until one of our favorite friends came to the rescue. Actually we were blessed with so many offers but I seriously feel so bad borrowing a car, like what if something happened? Anyways so we hop in the car to take her to school and the car wont even turn over. It is dead. Like nothing. So I try 25 times to start it up, probably bad. In the midst of me trying Kylie says I'll just hop out and take the bus so as we decide to do this the bus pulls up and takes off:( I  felt SO bad she really, really wants to make it to school to pass out her treats. At this point I don't know what to do when she says,  "Well, what about Plan A?" What is plan A? "Pray" Of course! So she offers up a humble little prayer and I start the car right up! What a powerful lesson she has taught me.

Bad Conrad picture:( We were singing and this is the only one of our whole family! Sorry babe!!

She designed her cake!!

This year we kept it low key. Every Friday we all meet up for lunch so I just brought a cake and we sang and that was about it. But Kylie sure felt loved. And that makes me happy.

TOP 6 REASONS I LOVE KYLIE JANE:
1. She loves to learn new skills.
2. She truly cares for everyone she meets.
3. She makes us laugh, but especially her sister.
4. She loves to create. And is dang good at it!
5. She is an amazing big sister.
6. She knows who she is and loves her Father in Heaven.

Fridays

Every Friday I get to take Reese (usually Kylie is at school) to Music Makers. It is on Reese's hot list. She loves this more than almost anything. But she especially loves it when sis gets to go with her:) She loves the songs we sing, and the actions that go with the songs, she loves the insturments she get to play with and the big tent at the end! This is such an awesome program that we will miss when we move. After Music we run to meet the bus to pick up Kylie. I pack up our lunch and we head out to the ramada and eat lunch with Conrad and the rest of the group. Fridays are our favorite.
